TRACK MAINTENANCE
Goldfields Railway is looking for a fit, enthusiastic individual to look after its 6.5 km of track.
Duties
Regularly inspects tracks, bridges, adjoining land along railway corridor;
Plans what work is to be done;
Installs railway sleepers and ballast as and where required;
Ensures that rail connections are in accordance with regulations Identifies potential hazards;
Ensures that all tools used for track maintenance are kept in satisfactory working order
Attributes:
Conversant with the Health & Safety in the Workplaces Act;
Physically fit
Quick learner, self-motivated, able to work without supervision;
Outcomes/Solutions-focused;
Handles stressful situations well;
Certs for digger, hydraulic lifting arm, safety harness and forklift an advantage,
but not required;
Career-oriented.
