Lumberjacks, bulls the size of small cars, sheep shearing and Kiwi band Sons of Zion are among the weird and wonderful entertainment at this year's Royal Easter Show.
More than 120,000 punters are set to pack into Auckland's ASB Showgrounds over five days, for this year's event.
And there wouldbe plenty to do and see with a jam-packed lineup of entertainment including Zirka Circus, carnival rides and fireworks.
The event was also set to celebrate 175 years of the A & P show, which would bring country life to city slickers including a petting zoo and shearing competitions.
This year's entertainers included Tina Scheer, AKA Timber Tina, who has been log rolling since she was 7-years-old and founded the first all-women team of logging sports entertainers.
Scheer, 57, and a group of lumberjacks were set to travel from America for their thrilling show, which features souped-up chainsaws, axe throwing and underhand chopping.
"Heck – watching a guy chop with a six-pound razor blade, three inches from his toes [known as underhand chopping] is pretty exciting. You literally are at risk every single stroke you take with the axe," she said.
"We've got some really great entertainers...it's a lot of fun."

Scheer has travelled around the world with her show, including to Alaska, South Africa, Australia and Germany. She also starred in season 12 of American reality show
Timber Tina's Lumberjack and Jill show was among a number of free performances set to go down in the main entertainment area over the five days.
The bill also included performances by Kiwi musicians Che Fu at 8pm on Friday and reggae band Sons of Zion at the same time on Saturday.
The Royal Easter Show will take place at ASB Showgrounds in Greenlane, Auckland from March 29 – April 2. Entry is free and tickets for activities including carnival rides and Zirka Circus can be purchased on site.
