The inaugural Summer Tides concert at Riversdale Beach on Saturday went off without a hitch and just dodged the rain, which started as the gates closed.
Organiser Rosie Broughton said about 1300 people attended the event with three "energetic bands", BeatGirls, The Noodles, and Masterton's SKAper, performing.
"It was amazing. Everybody really enjoyed themselves and we were so lucky with the weather, it just started raining as the gates closed."
Tickets sold like hotcakes, with some music fans travelling from Auckland, Wellington and the Manawatu to attend.
Miss Broughton said the team who organised the event were going to take a day or two to recover before discussing another event for next year.
