Isaac Waller, of Ngongotaha, was walking his dog when he discovered the remains of three sheep, part of a 200-strong mob of romneys hired by the New Zealand Farm Show for demonstration events at the tourist attraction.
"I couldn't believe it," Mr Waller said. "It's so disgusting and very upsetting to find animals slaughtered in this way. Their heads have been cut off and it looks like they have been slain by professionals."
Farm Show manager Peter McLean said staff from the Fairy Springs Rd complex were appalled that animals used to entertain tourists and children had been slaughtered in such a manner.
