'Serious concerns' for missing Auckland teen

The family of an Auckland teenager are appealing for any information about their missing son, who police say they hold "serious concerns'' for.

Tiuke Mahoni, 19, has not been seen or heard from since Saturday night, about 7pm.

The teenager was last seen in the Onehunga area wearing a blue American football-style shirt with the number 18 on the front and the name Manning on the back.

He was driving a white 2005 Nissan Presage Station wagon. The registration for that vehicle is: KEN618.

Police said the teen's cell phone had been switched off and his bank accounts have not been touched.

He has not been in contact with his family - which is said to be out of character.

Detective senior sergeant Paul Newman said: "We are seriously concerned for Tiuke - as is his family.

"We are asking anyone who knows where he may be to contact police immediately.

"His family are understandably very upset and want to know that he is safe.''

Mahoni is approximately 190cm tall and is of athletic build.

Police are urging members of the public who may have seen the teenager in the last few days or may have any information about his whereabouts to come forward.
