Police are examining CCTV security surveillance images from a robbed Napier dairy for the possibility at least one of the raiders returned to the shop as a legitimate customer some time after Friday night's armed gunpoint hold up.
The League Park Dairy proprietor Hetal Shastri and shop assistant Neha Chaudhary were robbed of cigarettes worth about $1000 plus about $900 in cash about 6.30pm on Friday.
Three robbers, who police believe included at least one female, were involved, one carrying a rifle, bursting-in on Mr Shastri as he worked in his office.
Now Ms Chaudhary has told police she recognised a woman in the shop yesterday with two girls, buying milk and hand cream.
She believes the woman was one of the trio in what was the 17th robbery in Hawke's Bay in less than four months, but the first at gunpoint.
By last night no arrests had been in relation to the Friday night hold up, after which the robbers fled across Taradale Rd in the direction of Marewa Park.
They are believed to have run into Henry Hill St and then Morse St.
