Award-winning Wellington restaurant Two Rooms, which twice asked diners to remove perfume, is to close.
The owners, maitre d' Dolly England and her brother, chef Jonathan England, will not comment on the reasons for the closure, on May 25. The intimate restaurant, which opened nearly four years ago in Miramar, has won several categories in the Corbans Food and Wine competition.
Two Rooms hit the news last year when women diners were asked on two occasions to wipe off their perfume.
Mr England explained the action later by saying: "Once or twice a year someone walks in with half a gallon of $3 perfume wanting to take on a $30,000 wine cellar and good food. They never win."
