Animal welfare groups are again calling for an end to greyhound racing.
This follows the death of three greyhounds in two days at racing events - one for a dislocated leg, another for a fractured hock and the third for a fractured leg after colliding with a fence.
Executive Director of SAFE, Hans Kriek says each racing season thousands of greyhound dogs are killed because of race-related injuries and other factors.
He says, to put a dent in the industry the gambling aspect of the racing needs to end, as greyhound racing isn't about the animals it is only about gambling and making money.
