A 52-year-old man facing a charge of attempted murder after a workplace incident last week, has been further remanded in custody.
David Alan Butler, a loader-driver from Burwood, appeared briefly before Judge Jane Farish in the Christchurch District Court today.
At his first appearance last Wednesday, he refusedlegal advice and accepted a remand in custody, snapping, "Just get on with it," to the judge.
Defence counsel has been appointed in the week since he was charged but no application was made for bail when he appeared today, and he entered no plea.
Judge Jane Farish remanded him in custody to March 26.
The police alleged Butler attacked a workmate with a jemmy bar and caused moderate injuries at a Bromley workplace. By the time of his first court appearance, the alleged assault victim was said to be recovering well.
Butler did not speak at all during today's remand appearance.
