A safety alert has been issued for one of the most popular child car seats sold in this country.
Owners of five models of the Evenflo Joyride seat have been advised not to use the carry handle until it has been modified.
However, the Evenflo Joyride is still safe to be used
as a carseat.
The warning for the American-made seat relates to models sold until 1999, almost all from baby-goods stores and Farmers. They have model numbers beginning 203, 205, 210, 435 or 493, which can be found on a label on the side of, or under, the seat.
Phoenix Imports said last night that it was checking records to find how many seats sold in this country were affected.
* Owners can get a free modification kit and instructions at baby stores or ring Phoenix Imports.
