Police want the parents of Hamilton teenagers to contact them come forward if their child has been the victim of aggravated robberies in the city.
Yesterday four more teenage boys claimed they were lured at different times to the Riff Raff statue in Hamilton's main street by a group they
partly knew. Like two victims who came forward last week, the college students said they were coerced from Garden Place to a site on the banks of the Waikato River near the statue, and robbed of clothes and possessions.
Two men have been arrested and appeared in the Hamilton District Court this week. Both have been remanded in custody.
Hamilton police said they were surprised to learn that relatives of the students knew about the incidents and did not report them.
Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton of the CIB said police were sometimes the last to know such crimes were taking place and this had to change.
