Two police officers are being treated for bite marks and kicking injuries after an incident at the Croatian consulate in West Auckland today.
Staff at the consulate general office of the Republic of Croatia in Lincoln Rd, Henderson called police about 1pm today after a man began "causing a disturbance" atthe building, police northern communications spokesman Inspector Dave Montgomery said.
The two officers, a man and a woman, arrived at the scene and were immediately confronted by the man, who allegedly began struggling with the officers.
"One of the officers, a woman, received serious injuries and is receiving medical treatment, while the other, the male sergeant, is also being treated for injuries," Mr Montgomery said.
The injuries were allegedly caused by the man biting and kicking the officers as they tried to subdue him.
The man has since been arrested. It was not known yet what charges he will face.
