Police investigating the death of a baby in Christchurch today have determined the death is not suspicious.
Police were investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby after emergency services were called to Bournemouth Cr, in Aranui, at about 8am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Worner said this morning that it was too early to say whether the death was suspicious, but police were going door to door gathering information.
Further correspondence from police at 4.30pm this afternoon confirmed the death is not considered suspicious and will be referred to the Coroner.
The incident followed the death of a 6-month-old baby at a Fitzgerald Ave home about 5am on Monday.
The police investigation into this August 21 death is continuing and no further information is available at this time.
