Police appeal for sightings of white station wagon

Police investigating the disappearance of six-year-old Featherston girl Coral Burrows are today appealing for sightings of a white station wagon seen near where her backpack was found.

A couple driving to Wellington -- the day after Coral disappeared -- saw a white station wagon drive erratically from the Double Bridges area on Wednesday, the same day her bag was found in the area, inquiry head Detective Inspector Rod Drew said.

The car headed towards Featherston, Mr Drew said.

Police have impounded two cars in the course of their investigation, one of them a white Lada station wagon, he said.
