Industrial action against the Inland Revenue department has been called off by the National Union of Public Employees (Nupe) and talks will resume, the union says.
Nupe represents about 38 staff in a dispute with the department, upset they do not receive a duties allowance for tasks outside normal work.

Martin Cooney said the action began on May 4 when Nupe members began refusing extra duties in the Riccarton office. There was also a plan to overload the call centre.
The IRD had said it would suspend staff who refused tasks outside their job description. Mr Cooney said two suspended workers returned to work today.
"Nupe members met yesterday and decided they had made their point to the IRD and the public, and would take up the offer of talks from their employer." The dispute may be mediated, he said.
Nupe is one of three unions which represent IRD staff nationally.
Earlier this month the Public Service Association reached a proposed collective agreement settlement with the department.
