Save One person was critically injured when a car and a roadworks truck collided on a motorway last night.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Auckland's Southern Motorway near the Wellesley St and Port off-ramps about 9.15pm.
Fire Service spokesman Scott Osmond said it took just over an hour
to remove the driver of the car from the vehicle wreckage.
The patient was transported to Auckland City Hospital with critical, but not life-threatening injuries, police said.
It is understood the driver was travelling alone.
