Take your pick on where to adventure today, the whole country is expected to bask in sunshine.
MetService meteorologist Claire Flynn said there would be morning frosts for many places but the day would become fine.
"There will be a little bit of cloud around Wairarapa, possibly Wellington and the Kaikoura Coast, and there's a chance of isolated showers in those areas," she said.
"There's also a chance of showers around Northland and Auckland but they will be isolated.
"Otherwise it will be sunny with fairly average temperatures for this time of year."
"In the South Island, it will be mostly fine with a frosty start in several areas.
"By Wednesday, there will be some rain in Northland and showers late in Auckland. In the South Island, it will be fine."
A weather system would move through from the west bringing some rain to most areas on Thursday, with the west coast of the South Island receiving the heaviest rain.
Meanwhile, WeatherWatch was expecting a settled, dry and mostly sunny day today.
"The centre of the high - which is very large - perfectly covered all of New Zealand [yesterday].
"The flip side is that this high is also delivering rough weather to the eastern side of Australia.
"That sub-tropical, more volatile, wet and windy side to the high will cross New Zealand this coming Wednesday and Thursday bringing an end to the calm, settled, crisp weather."
