Ten years ago Nicky Skerman completed her Master of Nursing degree at EIT. Little did she know that her research thesis would become nationally recognised and make it into Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's Wellbeing Budget of 2019.

But when Ardern mentioned Skerman in her speech and announced that $10 million of funding would go towards extending Nicky's programme into three sites across New Zealand – Skerman was surprised, but over the moon.
