A social media posting has raised a false gun scare at a North Shore school.
On Tuesday night a Rosmini College student wrote online that he was going to bring a gun to school.
Principal Nixon Cooper said police were alerted and the investigation had revealed that the student did not have a gun and that there was not a gun in his house.
A student made a "silly and inappropriate posting" on social media", Cooper said.
The student thought it was a joke - "obviously it's not a joke".
