A person has been seriously injured in the aggravated robbery of a dairy in the West Auckland suburb of Mt Roskill this morning.

Police said two dairy workers were hurt, one seriously, after seven people entered the dairy on Melrose Rd just after 7am.

The group was armed with a baseball bat and crowbar, police said.

"The group has assaulted the two people working in the shop and then fled in two cars taking cash and cigarettes with them.


"Both victims were treated by ambulance staff at the scene and were taken to hospital, one in a serious condition."

An Auckland District Health Board representative said one woman has been discharged from hospital.

The man who was seriously injured is now stable and is being transferred to North Shore Hospital.

He is not being transferred because of his injuries.
