Sonny Bill Williams wants everyone to think of the children.

In a series of recent tweets, the All Blacks star has highlighted the plight of children in some of the world's most troubled spots.

One post on Twitter showed a graphic image of a baby wounded in the Syrian conflict.

"Innocent defenceless people getting bombed and killed in Syria," Williams wrote.

In another tweet, Williams lavished praise on Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Loven, who made headlines for rescuing and adopting a starving Nigerian child whose family abandoned him because of witchcraft accusations.

"People like this should be our world leaders," he wrote.

And it seems his message has resonated with followers.

His post about Loven has been liked more than 8000 times and shared more than 6000 times since it was posted two weeks ago.
