Two mask-wearing men have robbed a Cameron Rd dairy armed with a hammer.

The two men walked into the Tauranga dairy at 5.26pm and took the till, a police spokesman said.

"According to the caller, the offenders arrived on foot and they had a hammer with them.

"They were wearing black clothing and had black masks over their faces.


"They took a small amount of cash and some tobacco."

Police were still trying to locate the offenders.

The police spokesman said there had been no injuries during the robbery.

Two police cars were present at the scene, with the area cordoned off by police.
