A UK tourist had his licence suspended on the spot after police clocked him driving at 150kph in a rental car.
He was caught near Kumara Junction Highway, on the South Island's West Coast.
Police suspended his licence for 28 days.
Earlier, a Chinese tourist in a rental vehicle was pulled over near Jacksons on State highway 73, which crosses the centre of the South Island, after a complaint from a member of the public that the tourist had crossed the centre line on a blind corner near Otira.
It was not known in either case if the rental companies involved cancelled the contracts or required someone else in the vehicle to continue driving.
