A repeat sex offender has been jailed indefinitely after being found in bed with a 14-year-old.
Shane Stoneham, 27, was sentenced to preventive detention with a minimum of five years when he appeared in the High Court at Wellington today, Radio New Zealand reported.
Stoneham was being supervised round-the-clock when
he was found in bed with the girl, who he had met online when she was 13.
The supervision was the result of earlier sexual offending in which one of his victims was a four-year-old girl.
His probation officer had warned him against the relationship with the teen but Stoneham continued it and the girl, who had run away, sneaked into his room at a secure Upper Hutt house last November.
