A woman who died in a house fire in Papatoetoe, south Auckland, on Monday has been named.
She was Bi Feng Rong, a 43-year-old Chinese national, whose badly burnt body was found by firefighters in the house on Trimmer Rd.
Police spokeswoman Ana-Mari Gates-Bowey said the fire was not being treated as suspicious but police investigators and fire safety officers were keeping an open mind as to how it began.
It was the second fatal house fire in the Auckland area within 48 hours.
Sickness beneficiary Pete Johnstone died after his Otahuhu home caught fire on Saturday night.
He was thought to have tried to rescue his kittens when he was overcome.
