New Zealand's next High Commissioner to Niue will be businessman and former MP Mark Blumsky, Foreign Minister Murray McCully announced tonight.
Mr Blumsky was a National Party MP from 2005 to 2008 and Wellington's mayor from 1995 to 2001.
He is currently involved in tourism development work on Niue.
"New Zealand and Niue are working closely together to help realise the island's full tourism potential and in recent months Mr Blumsky has been leading the industry development project," Mr McCully said.
