Comedy series Flight of the Conchords missed out on winning an Emmy Award today at a red carpet function in Los Angeles.
Flight of the Conchords, fronted by Wellington's Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, had four nominations including two in the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category for their songs The Most Beautiful Girl (In the Room) and Inner City Pressure.
The award instead went to a song about Matt Damon used on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Directed by James Bobin, the Conchords also missed out in the categories of Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
Those awards went to Pushing Daisies and 30 Rock.
The best Reality-Competition Programme award went to the Amazing Race, which is hosted by New Zealander Phil Keoghan.
