Sounds double murderer Scott Watson has a new love in his life - a 39-year-year-old Christchurch woman who still lives at home with her parents.
The woman did not want to discuss her relationship with Watson yesterday, but the Herald on Sunday understands she met the convicted killerthrough her association with another inmate at Christchurch Prison.
Sources confirmed the woman - who works as a caregiver in Christchurch - visited Watson in prison most weekends. Watson also phoned her regularly. The woman has never been married and still lives with her parents.
Watson separated from his wife, mother-of-four Coral Watson (nee Branch), earlier this year after a five-year relationship. At the time Watson said she could no longer tolerate her husband's constant philandering. She still lives in Christchurch, but sources say she has not spoken to Watson for some time.
Coral Watson declined to speak to the Herald on Sunday about her husband's relationship.
She also would not say whether she would be seeking a divorce from Watson.
Watson was jailed in September 1999 for the murders of Ben Smart, 21, and Olivia Hope, 17, who disappeared in the Marlborough Sounds on New Year's Eve 1997. He is not eligible for parole until 2015.
