New Open Polytechnic chief executive

Consultant Paul Grimwood has been appointed as Open Polytechnic chief executive.

Dr Grimwood, who has run a Wellington-based strategic management consultancy since 1991, replaces Shona Butterfield who leaves in April.

Dr Grimwood held several executive positions in Australia's rail industry and served on a education commission there.

He holds Masters degrees in engineering science and aerospace engineering and a PhD from Cornell University, New York.
