The Big Day Out became the wet day out for an hour last night as a cloudburst drenched music fans at Ericsson Stadium.
Crowds in front of the main stage dashed to shelter in the stands when the rain came, leaving only the diehards to brave the downpour.
Just over 22 mm fell between 6 pm and 7 pm.
For those weary of the endless wet weather there is some good news - forecasters are predicting a week of brilliant blue skies and lazy white clouds.
The first significant high pressure system to cross the country since mid-November is due on Monday.
MetService weather ambassador Bob McDavitt said: "It's a hay-maker of a high, so get ready to cut your hay because this high arrives on Monday and gives sunny, dry weather lasting right through to Friday. Well, Thursday anyway."
The high-pressure system about to move across New Zealand should arrive in time to clear away the showers in Wellington for its Anniversary Day on Monday .
Auckland should get showery southwesterlies today, but the sun should be out tomorrow.
MetService has a warning - get it while you can. The dismal weather could easily return by the following week.
