The gap is closing between the two main political parties, but National still has a commanding lead over Labour, a 3 News poll shows.
National's support is down 4.2 per cent to 52.1 per cent, and Labour is up 4.2 per cent to 33.8 per cent.
The Greens are at 8.2 per cent, the Maori Party at 1.9 per cent, Act at 1.6 per cent and NZ First at 1.5 per cent.
John Key is still the preferred Prime Minister at 49 per cent to Labour leader Phil Goff's 7.5 per cent.
