Police are attending a serious crash on State Highway 4 near Whanganui.
An elderly motorcyclist has died after a serious crash in Whanganui on Sunday afternoon.
He was the second motorcyclist killed on the nation's roads on Sunday.
The 71-year-old man was critically injured after coming off his motorcycle on State Highway 4 in Upokongaro, about 10km north of Whanganui, just before 2pm.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the accident.
The northbound lane of SH4 was closed due to the crash but has since reopened.
Another motorcyclist died and another was seriously injured after two motorbikes crashed in the South Island.
The motorbikes collided on Coast Road, in Barrytown just after 2am.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
“I have felt the effects of this in every aspect of my life," she told Ericson Pascua.
