Man remanded after woman's death

A 29-year-old man appeared in Christchurch District Court this morning charged with murder after a woman was stabbed to death in suburban Addington last night.

The man, whose name was suppressed, was remanded in custody.

The dead woman was named today as Lisa Bronwyn Blackmore, 27, also known as Lisa Bronwyn Hiddleston.

Police refused to comment on the relationship between the man and Ms Blackmore.

Detective Senior Sergeant Tom Fitzgerald of Sydenham police said the inquiry team was asking residents in the Riccarton-Addington area to contact them if they found anything on their property, which could relate to the inquiry.
