Man missing off Foxton beach

Helicopters and local boaties have resumed the search for a man missing off the coast near Foxton Beach.

The 37-year-old disappeared yesterday afternoon after going into the surf to rescue his child.

The boy is safe, but the father didn't return.

Two helicopters and several local boaties searched for the man until darkness fell last night.
