Man in hospital after construction site accident

A worker has been injured on an Auckland construction site where a man was crushed to death earlier this year.

The accident happened about 2.30pm at a site on the corner of Parliament St and Anzac Ave.

The man was pinned between two steel poles on scaffolding two metres above the ground after an eight metre concrete beam fell one floor.

He was taken to Auckland Hospital with injuries to his legs and suspected broken ribs.

In January, labourer Te Rue Taparia Tearetoa was killed when an earth bank collapsed at the Parliament St site where property developer Brent Clode is building a multi-level apartment block.
