Man dies in skydiving accident

A man is dead after a skydiving accident in South Auckland last night.

Acting Sergeant Wayne Paxton of Pukekohe police said the 32-year-old experienced skydiver died in the solo incident about 8pm.

Witnesses told police the man hit the ground at speed when landing and was pronounced dead at the scene, Mr Paxton said.

It was not yet known what caused the accident and investigations were still continuing.
