A man died after inhaling poisonous fumes while cleaning an underground water tank on a farm at Pukekawa, 50km south of Auckland, yesterday afternoon.
Police said the man, aged in his 30s, is believed to have died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Another person was taken to Middlemore Hospital with minor injuries.
