Man arrested after hoax call sparked armed callout

Save A man has been arrested in relation over a hoax call that resulted in armed police searching a Wanganui school yesterday.
Police received a call about an armed man who had been seen at Churton School in upper Aramoho, about 1pm.
The Armed Offenders Squad and police cordoned off a
road and searched the school, but nobody was found, police said.
A 48-year-old Wanganui man was arrested yesterday afternoon in connection to the call.
He was charged with criminal nuisance and would appear in Wanganui District Court today, police said.
