Kia latest car manufacturer to issue recall

Distributors say a recall of more than 500 Kia cars will be dealt with as quickly as possible.

The South Korean company has discovered of a fuel line problem which could cause an engine fire and has launched a worldwide recall.

There are 511 Rio sedan and hatch models affected in New Zealand.

Kia Motors' New Zealand managing director Stuart Jamieson says letters are being sent out to owners.

He says the vehicles can be taken to dealers to have the part replaced free of charge.

Mr Jamieson says the LTSA has been informed.
