Karaka road closed after surface damaged in crash

A South Auckland road will be closed for hours after the surface was damaged in a crash.

A truck and a car collided around midday today on Linwood Rd, Karaka.

One person was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Police and roading contractors attended.

The road surface is damaged and it will be closed for several hours at Linwood Rd/Charles Rd and Linwood Rd/Blackridge Rd.

One lane will be reopened when repairs have been made.

Police urge motorists to avoid the area if possible and said that delays are likely.
