Jetstar passenger's 'inappropriate comments' spark bomb scare

Police are speaking with a man after a bomb threat was reportedly made on board a Jetstar flight today.

Airport police met the flight which arrived in Auckland from Christchurch after "inappropriate comments" were made by a passenger, police said.

The comments were brought to the attention of staff and the passenger was met by police upon landing at Auckland Airport.

Media have reported the comments regarded a bomb.

Upon landing, the aircraft was searched and police and airport staff were satisfied there was no threat to the public, police said.

One man was assisting police with inquiries.

Police reminded everyone that all comments regarding the safety and security of aircraft were taken seriously.
