Spaghetti Junction spin-off
Southbound traffic on the Southern Motorway continues to be affected by lane closures between Grafton Rd and Khyber Pass Rd caused by work on the Spaghetti Junction project. Lane closures will be in effect between 8pm and 6am Sunday to Thursday until about mid-March.
The southbound Symonds St and Khyber Pass Rd onramps also will be closed periodically. Motorists are asked to use alternative routes wherever possible, and all detours will be clearly signposted.
Muscular dystrophy appeal
Volunteers will be out and about this week collecting for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during its Bow Tie Week. Bow tie brooches also can be bought from branches of the ASB Bank, Briscoes, Dispensary First, Subway, Unichem and Video Ezy.
Calling volunteer weeders
And volunteers are needed to help clear weeds in Avondale's Kurt Brehmer Walkway. Meet at 9.30am today and every Tuesday morning until March 25 at the Westend Rowing Club in Saunders Reserve, Saunders Place (off Timothy Place, which is off Rosebank Rd). Phone 379-2020 for information.

The Auckland Regional Council has upgraded the Rideline website giving information about public transport. The enhanced website includes an option where customers can register their details and then be kept up to date with service changes and new public transport promotions. Exhibitions
Artist Terri Yi uses etchings on copper and zinc to reflect the effect of yin and yang on everyday life. The display is in the Lake House Arts Centre, Fred Thomas Drive, Takapuna, until the end of next week. The centre is open from 10am to 4pm on weekdays and from noon to 3pm on Sundays.
* The Waitakere Ranges Protection Society celebrates 30 years as a conservation watchdog with an exhibition of works by New Zealand artists Don Binney, Gretchen Albrecht, Dean Buchanan, Sylvia Siddell, Peter Siddell, Elizabeth Thomson and many more. The exhibition ends with an auction on March 30 at 4pm. The centre, at 426 Great North Rd, Henderson, is open from 10am to 4.30pm daily.
* Six North Shore photographers show off their work in the Northart Community Art Centre, Norman King Square, in the Northcote Shopping Centre. The centre is open from 10am to 5pm on weekdays and from 10am to 4pm on weekends.
* Slow Light is an exhibition of art that emanates light or incorporates its own artificial light source. It is at the Gus Fisher Gallery, 74 Shortland St, Auckland, until the end of next week. The gallery is open from 10am to 5pm on weekdays and from 10am to 3pm on Saturdays.
