ELINORE WELLWOOD talks to Toni Marsh, TV3's hot (and cool) weather girl, sometime Christmas fairy and news presenter for The Edge radio show about her media favourites.
Television I love all those trashy ones, those reality shows. I like Average Joe. And Oprah's Dr Phil has given out some good advice -whether it comes through or not is the thing. And Sports Cafe.
I'm pretty much at the end of the news every night so I do watch the news right through.
Books I love reading books, pure trash, because I think reading's a form of escapism. Anything about love, sex, power, money, nothing intellectual. I'm not really giving details of titles - that would be too sad. But American Psycho, by Bret Easton Ellis, is my favourite.
Magazines You can't go past the Woman's Weekly for goss. I really like Pavement as well. It's off the wall, left of mainstream. Apart from that, I'm not very big on magazines.
Newspapers The Sunday Star-Times is my favourite. And I read the Herald every morning of course.
Radio I have to say The Edge, because I'm on it. Not that I ever get to listen to myself. I listen for the music. I like talkback too, Leighton Smith. And that's about it. Oh, and George FM.
Internet I use it (slowly, because I'm not very good) to source news stories. I do news and weather on The Edge. I have to get all the gossip news because it's targeted at a younger listener. So I'm into J-Lo being dumped from Louis Vuitton rather than hard news.
Inspiration I was asked to do the Glassons Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. My mother had breast cancer. She's always been an inspiration to me. She's had the big operation, but she got through it. I wore one of the T-shirts on TV, even though I knew we're not supposed to go casual.
