Police are still hunting the men involved in the smash-and-grab robbery of Auckland's Partridge Jewellers.
Four men ran into the Queen St store about 11.30 am on Sunday and used iron bars to smash display cases before grabbing hundreds of thousands of dollars of jewellery.
The men have been described as being
Maori or Pacific Islanders.
They escaped in a stolen silver Subaru, driven by another man, up Vulcan Lane and High St.
The car was abandoned in a carpark on Bankside St and the men were seen leaving in a metallic blue sedan.
A stolen dark blue van used to block High St traffic has also been recovered by police.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Saunders, of Auckland, said a bag containing clothing believed to have been used in the robbery, as well as display cabinets taken from the store, were discovered dumped in the tide off Coyle Park in Pt Chevalier.
He said anyone with information about the robbery should contact him on (09) 302-6761.
A substantial reward has also been offered by the store's insurance company. Anyone with information should contact (09) 638-7735.
TE ATATU
Police are seeking help to identify thousands of dollars of stolen jewellery and cameras recovered from the tide at Te Atatu North.
About a dozen bags containing jewellery, CDs and cameras were found yesterday.
Sergeant Ross Hunter, of Henderson, said goods from three burglaries in the Auckland area had already been identified and a public viewing of the remainder would be held at Henderson police station next Monday and Thursday, from 6 pm-8 pm.
MORRINSVILLE
Morrinsville police are investigating a substantial burglary reported over the long weekend.
Sergeant Tim Anderson said the residents of a farmhouse along Starkey Rd, near the Tahuroa Rd intersection, returned from holiday to find their white Nissan Navara ute had been taken, along with a double bed, scotch chest, kitchen utensils and a shotgun.
The vehicle was recovered on Tuesday but had been driven more than 300km since it was stolen.
Sergeant Anderson said he was worried that this could be the beginning of another spate of rural thefts. He urged anyone with further information to contact Morrinsville police on (07) 889-5071.
