Hokianga Harbour gets new ferry timetable

A quicker ferry service turnaround is being tested on the Hokianga Harbour.

The harbour's sole vehicular and passenger ferry, Kohu Ra Tuarua, has started testing 30-minute turnaround runs between Rawene in the south and the narrows, at Kohukohu, on the harbour's north side.

Ferry operator Impact Services is using the month-long trial to see whether a shortened service turnaround between the two townships is achievable.
