The latter dominated the first half but to their credit, the Whites battled back in the second spell where they managed to score three tries. Carterton won 38-17.
The Rams under-11s kept Martinborough honest in going down 27-10, while in the under-10 grade, Rams Black maintained their good form with a victory over Marist.
They are unbeaten so far this season as are Rams White and these two teams will clash this coming weekend in what should be a cracker.
In the under-9 grade, Rams were beaten by a well-drilled Gladstone combination and in the under-8s, Rams Grey suffered two close losses and Rams White beat the Greys but then lost a thriller 3-2 to the unbeaten Rams Black.
