Helicopter and boats search for man in Hauraki Gulf

A search has begun for a man who fell from a boat in Auckland's Hauraki Gulf today.

The police helicopter Eagle and several rescue boats have responded and are searching for the man south west of Cape Colville at the top of the Coromandel Peninsula.

He is thought to have fallen overboard about 10.30 am.

Police said the sea conditions in the area were not rough.
