Drunken teenage girls are getting a free ride - literally - and taxpayers are being left to foot the bill.
The girls, aged about 14, recently used parliamentary taxi chits to pay for fares in Dunedin.
Green Party MP Metiria Turei said her husband's bag, which contained a parliamentary taxi-chit book, was stolen in the city three weeks ago.
National MP Katherine Rich said a taxi driver approached her last week and reported receiving two parliamentary chits from "two drunk 13- or 14-year-old Maori kids - definitely not MPs".
