Gays put off surrogacy

Two gay men have withdrawn their application to become surrogate parents, saying they are outraged at the prejudice against them and the way the proposal was made public.

They said the system that required them to seek approval was fundamentally discriminatory.

Their application was to be considered next month by the National Ethics Committee.
