Four hurt in logging truck collision

Four people have been injured in a collision between a logging truck and a car this morning.

Police said State Highway 5 which runs between Napier and Taupo is currently blocked in both directions after the crash near Te Pohue.

Four people in the car were injured and being assessed by ambulance staff at the scene.

Police said traffic in both directions was not moving.

People planning to travel on the highway were urged to reschedule their journey or take alternative routes.
